I went from blogging weekly to hardly at all. Recently I had some big life shifts, including a new job. So now that I’m “settled”, I want to catch up! Here’s some stuff in the cooker:
* Interview with Badia Jeter who is coming out with a new project
* Interview with Solomon Jones on his latest novel
* Open Letter by The Ambassador addressing XXL’s article about Christian Rap
* My Personal Job Testimony of how God answered my small prayer in a huge way
* Book Review on “God Winks” (yes, Diane, it’s coming finally… I promise)
* Book Review on “How Christians Should Vote,” by Dr. Tony Evans
* My son and “Christian” superheros–for the super toddler in your life!
* Commentary on the Chick-fil-a controversy, from perhaps a rather unique angle
* Launch of a new “Jobs List Website” to aid people with finding jobs
* Some technology tips that some “searchers” out there may be glad to come across
* Commentary on Joel Osteen–harmless or harmful? (I’ll keep you in suspense on that one)
* And more!
As you can see, I’ve got a lot to share! There’s been a lot on my mind lately. A lot of growth taking place inside. Spiritually and otherwise. God constantly reminds me of His love. That He is in charge and has everything under control. Everything. Even when it may not seem like it. From issues in our personal lives, to national concerns like who is going to run our country. After Election Day, no matter who is elected, God is still in ultimate control. No matter who wins the Superbowl. Even in the midst of wars and rumors of wars. No. matter. what. God is in control and He loves you. He loves me. We each are on a journey. A pilgrim’s walk. We each have a “journal.” This is mine. And I share it with you that it may bless you in some way. Even if it’s only to make you smile. Or perhaps you may find something helpful or useful to know. That’s my blog’s mission. I love to write. And I love to encourage others and share helpful resources.
I was just sharing with a friend of mine that I need to make time to write more. The funny thing is, the last few days I’ve written another friend of mine rather “long” e-mails (you know who you are, smile). And it occurred to me that in the time I take to write an e-mail in such detail, I could’ve written & posted a few new entries on my blog! So I really have the time to blog more if I am more disciplined about it. I need to learn to write even when I’m not “inspired.” This discipline is important for a couple big writing projects on my horizon (no, I’m not writing a book, but close). My heavenly Father gives me never-ending ideas. Seriously. And I figure if I don’t get started on some of these ideas, He’ll rise up someone else to do them. Sorta like if no one praises Him, He’ll get the rocks to shout out His praises! Feel me? And shucks, I don’t know about you, but I wanna be used by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! So I’mma put the petal to the medal and let Him use me, if He still deems me usable. All the while keeping Him and my family a priority. Whew. Only by God’s grace I tell you!
Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you. The website for JDWeb Solutions is back up! After a 5-year hiatus. Ecclesiastes wasn’t joking when it says life is but a vapor. Poof. Because I can’t believe it’s been five whole years. For those who may not know, JDWeb Solutions is my freelance service. I help people create websites. Some for a fee. Some pro bono. If you want to learn more or see example websites I’ve done, go to www.jdwebsolutions.com. I’ll be posting newer examples in the near future. Like a website for Joshua’s Journey. Judy’s Puppets. Eric-E’s English site (congrats on your new baby girl). The Ambassador’s website (he’s getting a much-needed makeover). Plus Calvary Christian Church, Oh Taste & See…, Bishop Townsend’s Blog, Unwrapped4U (a new book on spiritual gifts by JT), Solomon Jones’ website (he’s getting a makeover too), Kidz of the King Comics (can’t wait), and Sew Jane Sew. So yeah, I’ve been busy. But happy. God is good. Thank you for reading.
